Looks like quite a party!

Who's in the band? What kind of music? Looks like I see acoustic, electric and slide guitars. Cool!

We do a house concert every few months featuring local musicians. This time the feature artists were a couple of friends, and the music was mostly covers from the 70's and 80's. A few people who were invited are also musicians, and each sat in for a few songs. Our previous concert, last Valentines Day, was strictly acoustic, but this time we asked the musicians to bring a sound system.

Anybody whose living room will accomodate a dozen chairs or more can do this. Just find a local musician you like and ask them. We do these as a pot luck dinner, we don't charge an attendance fee, but we suggest a $15 tip, and the musicians have never walked away with less than $150/ea. Musicians like this kind of venue because, unlike a club gig, everybody listens, and they get exposure to people who haven't heard them before.

I have no room in my house now.... but when I move to Bar Harbor, Maine, I could do that. Seems like fun!

Another great house concert last night, and this time we did a song circle afterward. All my musician friends in the audience brought their instruments, and after the concert ended we rearranged the chairs in a circle and went around so each could perform solo or with accompaniment. Great fun!
