I thought this was the best of the Blades, though I have not
gone back to analyze each one.
I got some good laughs at some of the dialogue.
But I think Wes is getting too old for these action shows.
He's not Rudy Ray Moore after all. And that merkin on his
forehead was looking like a bad cosmetic job in a scene
or too.
Still, the weaponry was interesting, the dialog was fairly
smart as one would expect from good comic book or other
craftsman writing, and the new characters: Blade The Next Generation
seemed to have some style.
However they did 'go to the well' by putting a child in danger...
and a baby as well. I always recall what Ebert said about that:
it's unconscionable to use threats to children as a plot device.
Think of Dakota Fanning is any number of releases including
War of The Worlds.
For me, it's back to watching past dvd seasons of Stargate SG1.
I admit it. I'm hooked on these. They have a beginning, a
middle and an end, last only 45 minutes and don't have
any commercials. After not watching any tv for 10 years or
so, I have quite a bit of fresh meat in the form of dvd
tv seasons to sate my desire for sf shows.
