I don't know about the Kappas but some people have used them and reported good results.
I have tried to focus on a handful of drivers that I know work well and optimize for them. You can spread yourself too thin trying to support too many drivers. It takes a fair amount of effort to design and test a speaker, so I've tried to select the parts I thought were best. That doesn't mean there aren't other really good ones though, and by all accounts, the Kappas sound good. They do appear to have the right specs.
