Best concert I've ever seen was Eric Johnson in Wichita right as Ah Via Musicom was released. He was 1 1/2 hours late because his bus broke down, spent 1/2 hour getting set up, then proceeded to play for 4 hours straight to make up for it. Little club Roxy (used to be a theatre) that held about 250 people. That guy is just freakin awesome on a guitar.
Either that show or Buddy Guy at a small club are my favorites.
Thats a guy I would have liked to see; Eric Johnson. I like his melodic style and the fact that he can do it so fast and still sound musical.
I saw Buddy Guy and Junior Wells along with Willie Dixon and James Cotton at a revival show. Good Stuff. He has a big sound; not real technical but nice and smooth.
Is that basketball? I sed to play baseball & basketball in high school, but am too short to play bsktball now. I don;t really have time anymore to do team sports. I pretty much swim or try to work out ion other ways.
Yes; B-Ball is hoops. I am following the Iron Dungeon site on the net. It has good articles about working out for older guys. Bodyweight excersizes are easier on the joints they say.
I used to follow the Blues somewhat. One of the best I have ever seen was Howlin' Wolf. He played this little hole in the wall joint. What a huge guy and talk about a gravel voice! He had Hubert Sumlin' plying guitar. Did all the goodies; Red Rooster/I asked For Water..etc.
What do you think about Johnny Winter still touring? He is practically dead. They roll him out onto the stage and he does three licks then stands there. Used to be phenomenal.
