The whole reason AudioRoundTable.com was formed was that a handful of folks were sick and tired of the gossip columns and name calling at other audio messageboards. So rules were made to prevent that from happening here.

The Dungeon was really set up almost exclusively for you Annexers, after you asked for it. I personally get frustrated and want to vent sometimes, so I bring some of that down here. But I was surprised that after the Dungeon was formed, I don't think I ever saw you post here. It's been nine months since then, and we haven't heard a peep from you.

The majority of AudioRoundTable.com forums are places for "how-to" discussions about audio, and really nothing else. It is not a place for gossip columns, personal attacks or social or political commentary. That's not what the place was created for, and it isn't going to be badgered and manipulated into becoming that. If you think technical discussions and opinions about how to build and setup sound systems are boring, then AudioRoundTable.com forums are not for you. Now that I think about it, most technical or how-to topics aren't very exciting, but sometimes the end result is pretty cool.

The Dungeon is much more open and unrestricted. About the only things off limit there are kiddie porn and stuff regulated by federal law. If it's illegal, it would be deleted 'cause none of us want the feds around. But for the most part, the Dungeon is an unmoderated area and you don't have to feel like you're walking on eggshells when discussing controversial or sensitive things. It's not limited to shop talk or product reviews or whatever.

I would really like to see you, Zheeem, Lonestar, John and the rest of the Annexers here. The Dungeon was setup specifically so you would have a place to express yourselves, using whatever style you prefer. But please don't try to impose your will on the rest of the forums. They are shop-talk discussion areas and are there to help support people with the hobby.

Well, I was going to post this over at the Annex, but perhaps you can help me out instead. I just moved into a new house and could use some help picking out drapes for my new listening room. Any suggestions on which colors and fabrics might sound the best?

I could never decide between something light like antique satin, cashmere or lisserie or something heavier like houndstooth or matelesse. So many choices. Oh my!!! LOL

(If you think about it your drapes _do_ have a sonic impact. It makes a difference as do other furnishings and items of decor.)

I've given a lot of thought to the window treatments in my listening room. I really don't care for drapes, so I've decided on cellular (honeycomb) shades. According to the manufacturer, they're suppose to be energy efficient and great for sound absorption.

Felix's new FLX power cables with the Pollution Control Module.

"The 4-Plex above has something special inside. It's the new FLX Pollution Control Module that's designed to efficiently filter RFI and EMI-driven sonic artifacts. Installed inside the Hubbell, its range extends to all components plugged into its outlets. At this point, the Pollution Control Module will only be available as an option for the 4-Plex, but FLX Designs is actively working on other applications."

But you just don't have ButchBoy's fashion sense. I'll bet you've never even heard of Latex Bazaar or Footwear Monthly.

Yeah, I just pretty much wear what's next on the shelf. Not much to talk about there.

What came between you and L.Alter? Do you two have history outside of ART? What was said on the thread with Laurence that I missed before it was deleted over in General? I must have missed something because he mentioned a cartoon.

I thought L. Alter might be a friend of Sam Tubes, but I was wrong and apologized, and said I didn't want to get into a pissing match over it. That's about it. Certainly nothing that should have been deleted.

This was the cartoon I posted over at AA a while back suggesting it would be a good way to settle disputes. Apparently L. Alter was the one who took exception to my attempt at humor and sent a private email complaining. Said if he wasn't banned from AA he would haved complained on the board. That's about it. I had forgotten about the email, and didn't answer it for obvious reasons. Much to do about nothing.
