I am in favor of converting it into a dedicated photo forum available for interesting photo's of personal interest to the members.
Not so much in the self-agrandising mode but more along personal experiences like Damir's. I wouldn't mind seeing some of your pics of traveling around the Southwest; you know things like that with short narration. I like good landscape and items of interest pics. And certain quality build photo sets; as an example Garman and Electratig and Douglas have good construction sequences. I think it can be tied into audio in the sense that people would reflect on travel/music and life in a photographic essay style.
I don't see that done anywhere; maybe because no one would be interested but who knows? You never know until you try.
But I personally like them personalised not proffessional photos from the print media.
My objection was always the repitition and self-absorbtion; but good photo's are a joy to see and there are many here who have a knack for that sort of thing. Not five guys lined up looking self concious; but nice compositions of things of interest.
I just see now that there is no pschycic payback in arguing current events; it goes nowhere in a hurry. It forces people to adopt a paradigm with no tagline. Don't get me wrong; I love to argue political theory but this is pre-empted by time and distance; there is no shared experience and therefor no reference point.
Maybe the tower could be issues of epiphanic reflection; like why the Rolling Stones are still alive.
And we need some stories; there are not enough stories tying the guys in with their musical listening habits.
Couple thoughts because I started school and won't have time to argue politics for a while.

Seems like you were here from the start, no? At first, there was no Dungeon or Tower. They were created so people could discuss things off-topic. Tower was to be moderated, the Dungeon was not. Both allow non-audio discussions, but the Tower has rules and the Dungeon does not. Except of course what is prohibited by law, stolen copyrighted material, kiddie porn, things like that. Those kinds of things can't even be put in the Dungeon.

I like seeing images in all the forums. I like them mainly 'cause a picture is worth a thousand words. Some photos are just enjoyable, others explanatory. Photos of a speaker project in the speakers forum are very welcome, amps in the amp forums, and so on.

I carped at the photo thing early on. It seems to end up becoming a showboat for re-posting the same pics over and again; same people same stuff. Maybe from a different angle.
Say; why are you free'd up to post again? For a while you were not frequent but you're back in the swim it seems; what up with you?
Did you complete the cooling system?
And thanks for refreshing the rules to me. I live and die by the rules.

There's a link to the posting rules for every forum on ART at the upper left of the index page. I always try to check in on the π Speakers forum several times a day, whether I'm busy or not. That's how people generally get in touch with me, so I try to make myself pretty available. I usually go through the rest of the forums too, usually at least once a day. But sometimes that's all I can do, and occasionally, not even that.

I've been extremely busy lately. It's almost like the month prior to the Great Plains Audiofest in May, for a similar reason, I'm getting ready for the Prosound Shootout in October. I still have to put the sides and braces on the 12 π basshorn sub that will be entered there, and I'm working on a test plan along with the rest of the participants. Spoke to Johan Van Zyl of Bassmaxx on the telephone just yesterday. We're all committed to making sure everyone is comfortable with the measurements, both in the scope of what will be measured and in confidence that the data gathered is reliable, accurate and unbiased. So working on that plus the normal daily support keeps me on my toes.

Well; good luck with it. I can't imagine the thunderous bass that will emanate from that arena!
Watch for the low flying planes.
