Well; it's in the news, the first joint Chinese-Russian military excersizes are a resounding success.
We had a chance to work with the Russians but our big bankers decided that unethical banking practices that punished the Russian Government but lined their pockets were more important.

That's a complicated situation. America's relationship with Russia seems to be good one day and less so the next. I think that's because there are still a lot of things in flux over there. There may be some issues with Putin too. He's a hot button for most Russians, a controversial figure in his own homeland. So I think that may have something to do with it here too.

Relations with the Ukraine are great. They've realy groomed themselves to be pro-West and European, and America has done a lot to embrace them. I think it's that way with other ex-Soviet states as well.

China is a whole other matter.

Yeah; thats why I thought it odd they are so eager to unify their military operations.
I think; Russia has the largest stores of oil outside the middle east. China needs oil. We stepped into Iraq to secure the middle east oil reserves for us. This event must have precipitated this re-alignment of alliances. Putin is a guy who is going to be independant and he wants to show the world this.
This is my thinking; I no longer read political blogs because they are all full of caca. Right and left. So don't blame anyone but me.

China and Russia have had good relations for several years. I think it was uneasy at times, but still, they shared similar ideals for quite a while.

Hi Wayne; Please excuse this but China-U.S.S.R were bitter enemies through all that time from 1954 on. They hated each other like poison.
Something to do with border disputes and resource allocation.
