So that precedent is clear basis for suing gun manufacturers? Automakers? Telephone companies?

Maybe 80-year olds who grew up when telegraphy was a big deal shouldn't be making technology rulings.

You know I never thought of it that way but in essence you are right; whats to stop that ruling from affecting every aspect of technology?
I record streaming radio for the home and make compilation CD's out of them. I can't get this stuff anywhere else. Hope it is not affected.
