I've been back on a war movie kick, it's probably a guy thing. But the thing that really makes 'em good for me is when they are about airplanes. There are a couple movies I had forgotten about lately, mostly probably because I have them on tape and not on DVD. I tend to prefer the movies I have on DVD to those on tape, so I sometimes forget the ones I've had on tape for years. But these two are long-time favorites of mine, so I need to remedy the situation and get them on DVD. One that I really enjoy is Memphis Belle and another is The Blue Max.

I literally grew up with this movie. I think I must have been somewhere around 10 years old when I saw it the first time on television. I loved planes and was completely enchanted with this movie.

It's got everything. Cool airplanes. Exciting fight scenes. The ambition and friction between men in the squadron. And of course, the girl.

The Blue Max is a movie that should definitely be in every guys collection of DVD's. If you've not seen this one in a while, you might be interested to know that they've re-released it on DVD format.
