Wayne, is it possible to change the dimensions of the 7 Pi bass bin to make it shorter and wider, while retaining the proper volume?

You can as long as you don't go crazy. The vertical distance helps provide distributed sound sources in the upper modal region and reduces floor bounce. It's not that it needs to be an exact distance, but you don't want it to be too little or you'll not get the smoothing desired.
