I'm trying to source the 20uF film caps but don't see much selection out there that don't cost an arm and leg.

Aside from Dayton (PartExpress), Clarity (E-Speakers), Solen, or motor run is there any other ones I should be looking?

Thanks,

Norbert

The poly caps from those manufacturers all sound very good, as do Erse. As you say, there are some high end caps that sound nice also, but at 10x the price. The Daytons, Solens and Erse caps are great sounding for the money.

the Obligato basic cap from diyhifi in Hong Kong cost under $10 in that size, and will rival an Auricap.

Hi Matt,

The Obligato's from http://www.diyhifisupply.com only comes in 22uF I am trying to stick closer to 20uF as per Wayne's suggestion from previous post. I guess technically it is within the design's tolerance.

Thanks.

I'm using the 22uF Obbligato right now but also tried the 20uF Aerovox motor run caps. Very little difference, if any.

get two tens in parallel? I've used 2 tens and a 1.5 before, North Creeks, with no probs. I replaced them with the big Obligatos.

motor runs may be the way to go. A friend of a friend is in the heating repair business and he is collecting used motor run caps for me.

Thanks.
