Lots of great war movies made in the 60's. One of my all time favorites is, The Train, starring Burt Lancaster and Paul Scofield from 1964. It has many great odd perspective shots. One in particular, a bombing run filmed from the bombadiers perspective. Great story, action and suspense. And of course old Burt as Labiche, smokin them stubby french cigs. As a side note, it's startling to think, a 1000 or so vets from the big one are checking out every day or so.
