I was on a WWII-movie-kick last week, so I watched Saving Private Ryan. I even made the mistake of making myself a nice big snack before I sat down to watch it. Man, is the first of that movie gory! It's an excellent movie, and scenes depicting the taking of Omaha beach are supposed to be gory. But I'm just sayin' that if you haven't watched Saving Private Ryan, don't grab a bunch of hotdogs and load up on the ketchup.

I remembered that Tom Hanks played one of the main characters (Captain John Miller) but had forgotten that Vin Diesel was in it, and that Private Ryan was played by Matt Damon. Lots of big names in that one that I'd forgotten about, probably 'cause they weren't big names yet when this movie was filmed. The plot is good, and the filmmaking realism and soundtrack are great. All-in-all, I thought it was a good movie and worth seeing again.
