Frank Stupple wrote to me yesterday saying he would be sending the Stoekit out right away. So I expect it to be in Tulsa next week sometime.I'm thinking we need to have a little get together. Setup a Paramour and a Zen, maybe a couple others too. Mark has the Music Reference amp and Jim has a Fisher and a Dynaco. We can pull some of these together and a speaker or two and compare 'em all.
I'd be willing to have it at my place if you guys want. I'm having a lot of work done on my house, so that's an issue. A new shower pan is being installed, some trim carpentry and a new roof. So it's like the place fell apart around us this year. But none of that really impacts our ability to host an event. It's more just an eyesore than anything else.
I'd like to have a pair of the new π midrange horns when we have our meeting so I'll try to make sure and keep a pair here. But I keep selling them as fast as Bill can make them. I'd also like to have a pair of eight π speakers here for the meeting, but there's no time. No room for that matter, I have way too many speakers already.
My house isn't big enough for all these speakers. I have a pair of one π speakers, two π, two π towers, seven π and ten π speakers. I really need to get rid of some speakers so I can build a pair of eight π's for myself. But I've just got too many demo speakers to fit any others in here. Can't sell the other demo speakers 'cause they aren't new so maybe I should list them in the Swap Meet forum and check into using Audiogon.
Anyway, I'm thinking that we should have another meeting in a few weeks and taste-test this Stoekit. Order a couple of pizzas and make a party of it. Then in the early evening, those of us with motorcycles should ride off to somewhere to round out the evening. Sound good?
