Hello, I see that the tapped horn is starting to gain popularity in the pro sound realm and seem to do a great job in the low bass region. I am thinking about using the JBL 2206H for the low mid section playing from 100Hz to 500Hz. Do you think that the tapped horn approach would be effective in this frequency range?

A midhorn used from 100Hz up should be about 3 feet long and needs a fairly large mouth. You can try different configurations in Hornresp to see what you can come up. Here's one I did for the JBL 2226:
