Hi guys,

I hope experts here could help me decide what to do with a pair of JBL 2206H woofers. I'm thinking of building a pair of bass-reflex out of the 2206, pairing with maybe a horn tweeter that's used in Pispeakers.

I'm not an expert in speaker designing. Here's what I had in mind. Since the 2206H and B&C DE250 are pretty flat in their frequency response, I'm thinking of just having a 1st order crossover for both drivers at 1.5kHz with attenuation on the tweeter to match the level.

I've read the speaker crossover posted by Wayne online (thanks!!!!) but I couldn't really digest it all. The 2226H was mentioned in the article but 2206H was not. With my limited understanding, I might as well just go with the simplest and see how it works.

Any advice would be very appreciated!

The 2206 works well in boxes from 1ft3 to 3ft3, tuned from 50Hz to 60Hz. As you move towards the large end of this scale, you should also move towards a lower Helmholtz frequency. The 1ft3 box tuned to 60Hz has f3 of 70Hz. The 3ft3 box tuned to 50Hz is an EBS alignment with f3 of 50Hz.

Thanks! (nt) [message #51919 is a reply to message #51918] Sat, 15 March 2008 23:05 Go to previous message
