I have a pair of Theater 4's that I've moved into a new room (14.5' wide x 20' deep). The speakers are on the short wall, and my chair is about 11' from the front of the cabinets. What's the recommended placement and position for optimum soundstage?

Illuminati (33rd Degree)

I would put them within two feet of each corner, angled inwards from 30° to 45°. If the room is nearly square, then toe-in 45°. If very long and deep, then toe-in angle should be less.

This placement will give you a nice, large "sweet spot". Best imaging is anywhere that is equidistant between speakers within 40° from the axis of each one. At high frequencies, there is about +/- 20° vertical pattern, so the speakers will sound great seated even at fairly close range. Best sound while standing needs to be done from a few feet back.
