I had replaced the drivers in my Stage 4's to B&C 250's, and just put a 2226 in one of them....WOW! I've had these in boxes for some time, and didn't feel a need to upgrade them from the Omega's, but finally got around to it. I'm using a 12-ga. custom 0.7mH inductor, with Mills, Auricaps and North Creeks in the high-freq side. Sounds great! I bought the 2226's at the eTent sale some months ago, and it turned out the other one was 16 ohms, not 8. However, I wrote JBL, even tho I didn't expect any relief at this late date from tent sale, etc. However, they are sending me an 8-ohm model for no charge, and told me to keep the 16-ohmer. What great customer service,eh? Can't wait to get stereo again....

Glad to hear it! The JBL 2226 is a very nice sounding driver.

Just a reminder: When running the JBL 2226, be sure to remove the capacitor C4 (across the woofer) and Zobel components R3 and C5. They're needed for the Omega 15 but not for the JBL 2226.

I ran the 2226 for awhile with the C4 cap in the xover, but without the zobel, and it sounded ok, but opened up a lot more w/out it. Now only the new coil is in there, and it sounds great. I wish I had the second one...
