Wayne,

You use Delta_10a extensively in your speaker design, I have a few questions. I like to use this mid-woofer as a mid range in an open baffle design.

1. The steep rise in the freq. response curve(from manu. curve) after
1khz will still be very prominent in an open baffle?
2. You pick this driver as midrange because of midrange tonality or
dynamics or any factors you want to list here?
3. what x-over frequencies did you pick when you design your
speakers?

thanks.

The rising response above 1kHz is due to cone breakup, which is attenuated by the midhorn, it's front chamber and other features. As a direct radiator, you'll have rising response as shown in the measurements. One option you might look at when using the Delta 10 as a direct radiator is to attenuate this range with an electrical filter.
