What you're seeing are breakup modes. They make the curve rise like that, but they actually measure pretty consistently. It's not a choppy curve, it's a steady rise. That helps midhorns with these drivers have useable response above 1kHz. Without that response curve shape, you wouldn't have much output up high.
Wayne ... Quick thanks and follow up. How high can I take each of the four and still maintain low distortion? They will be used in WG's so top end won't be as restricted compared to horns. Zene

You'll find that the horn will naturally limit upper response for you, unless you add a phase plug. The acoustic low-pass filter formed by the horn makes a nice natural limiter of high frequency breakup.
