Is it a 1 for 1 swap between the 1 inch of fiberglass as specified in the 2pi directions and 1 inch of polyester batting? Would an open cell acoustic foam that PE sells work too?

If the cells are large enough, open cell foam is much more acoustically transparent than fiberglass insulation. It's what some use for speaker grilles. I think probably the small cell stuff is more absorbent, but I haven't made any measurements to see.

I just used the fiberglass "full strength". They sound good to me.
