I built some sealed, corner mounted subwoofer cabinets using a super long throw 15" TC Sounds LMS 4000 driver.

They look like the Klipschorn botoms.

I was thinking of going to a higher efficiency driver in a ported arrangement.

Since these are corner mounted, an honest 30 hz response would do the trick.

Any favorite woofers that would work well in this box ?

The driver is down firing, and there is room on the bottom baffle to not only mount the driver, but place a port as well.

For an inexpensive bang-for-the buck solution, the Eminence Delta 15 works great. If you have a little more money to spend, you can use a JBL 2241, which is a low-distortion 18" woofer that has a shorting ring. When used in a 9ft3 cabinet tuned to 25Hz, both these woofers have a nice rising response in the bottom octave that works well for corner loading. Bass output is a conjugate for room lift and makes overall response smooth and deep.
