Wayne, Is there a stock three-way XO that will work for the Pi 1 kit/Pi 3 sub? I'll run the subs (one per side) off a plate amp, but was thinking that eliminating the bottom end on the Alpha 8s would help the midrange?

Or, am I better off just letting the Pi 1s roll off at the bottom and filling in with the subs.....Colin

Just let the one π speakers rolloff naturally, and crossover to the subs around 60Hz. That makes a very seamless transition because the crossover point is so low. You can move the crossover point up some, which will reduce IMD in the Alpha 8 proportional to the amount you've moved the crossover point up. This requires an electronic crossover between mains and subs. But I'd go with the simpler solution, because IMD isn't bad as it is, and to improve it by a significant amount would require an inappropriately high crossover point.
