I've always wanted to build some PI speakers but my 13x22 listening room doesn't really have any usable corners - windows, doors, etc. in the way. (The studio series looks great, but I have some little Klipsch KG2s and a nice set of original Heresys. So I'm stocked up on good little speakers.)

Lately I've thought about some Cornwalls or PI 3 or 4s...

But the idea of a horn-loaded woofer just won't go away...

So, are the 8s suitable for placement against a wall?

If so, Wayne, if you would send along some plans, that would be very cool.

I would using my homebrew parallel feed SE 6B4 Amps. Working on a 300B version... Also built a pretty good PP 6B4 amp based on the ST70 transformer set.

Thanks in advance for any comments/input.

The eight π loudspeaker doesn't have to be placed in corners, but it can be. It is designed to be placed with it's back against the wall or in corners.

There are actually six attached files, all were sent:

  • eight_Pi_page1.jpg
  • eight_Pi_page2.jpg
  • eight_Pi_page3.jpg
  • eight_Pi_crossover.gif
  • Crossover_Tips.doc
  • General_Tips.doc

You might check and see if there are space limits on your account, or if you have something set to remove image file attachments, perhaps for virus deterrence or something. If the attachments have been stripped for some reason, I'd be happy to resend. Maybe you will want the plans sent to a different E-mail address. Just let me know.

You're right Wayne. The boys in IT have been messing with the email filters again... sorry. I send and receive huge prepress files all the time.

Just resend to captgonzo@aol.com - that's been pretty reliable.

Thanks again.
