Hey everyone. Someone recommended these speaker kits to me and so far they look great when compared to expensive, rip me off, companies. I just have a few questions before I purchase the Stage Seven Pi-18

1. Would you recommend a Separate Enclosure for the Subwoofer?
2. What type of enclosure should be needed for the sub and midrange(if needed)
3. If i wanted to get creative and create a mid woofer horn would it complement the crossover design?
4. What would be the best overall design to completement these speakers(to sum it all up)?

Thanks so much,
Kyle L
Poor DJ from Georgia

p.s. The subwoofer bass horn is the coolest thing i have ever seen....nice work.

The crossover design takes driver position into account so if you change configuration or layout, it may not work properly. As for assembly, I like to make the bass bin, midhorn cabinet and tweeter separately, fastened together with aluminum pins. This makes assembly, disassembly and transport much easier. The pins hold everything in place.

Wow... that looks amazing. And incredibly complicated. So i probably shouldn't design my own enclosures due to crossover sensitivity. What design would you recommend for a 520 RMS 8 ohm 1 channel output?(I can also bridge this connection)

What do you want to do with the speaker? Is it for DJ use? Or is it for home hifi?

This speaker would be used for DJ use/large room 30' x 50' perameters.

I'd suggest a four π and four π-18 subwoofer or the soon to be announced 9π and a 12π basshorn subwoofer. If you can deal with a large basshorn cabinet, the 12π subwoofer would be great. If not, the four π-18 sub would be better.

Hmmm. Idon't see a four pi-18 subwoofer. What series would you recommend? And how big is the 12 pi basshorn cabinent, and could i move it myself cause thats the major thing.

The four π-18 uses an 18" woofer (JBL 2241, 2242, Eminence Omega or Kilomax 18) in a 10ft3 cabinet tuned to 30Hz. The 12π is a 45x45x28" folded basshorn using a pair of 12" woofers. It has castor wheels so you can move it around pretty easily but it is large and heavy. You'll definitely want a trailer or truck with a ramp if you move them much.

Well, I do have a large truck, but what do you think would be the cheapest way to create it. 30 Hz would be a perfect low frequency, and looking at the specs of the basshorn, it might be a little too much power for this project(i have a lack of amp power). The Four pi-18 would be perfect. But yes, This is a Two Way system correct? What series should i go with?

The 12π is a very powerful basshorn, and it is efficient and very high-quality too. But it is basshorn subwoofer, which means it is very large and somewhat complicated to build. The four π and four π-18 subwoofer are simple to build and easy to transport. If you would like, I'll send plans.
