It appears the JBL 2012 has been discontinued. Has anyone tried the replacement and is it still suitable for the Pi midhorns? I was thinking of buying a pair of 2012's, especially if someone knows of a place that has a decent closeout price? Thanks, Ian

The best price I found for anyone with stock was jblpro.com's B-Stock for $240, which doesn't seem like a great deal for B-stock. I was looking at the specs, and they seem to indicate that the driver has less than 0.1% distortion(over 30db down) over most of the range its used in the midhorn. Am I reading that correctly? If so, thats quite impressive.

The JBL 2012 is a very nice driver, as are all the JBL Professional Series woofers and midrange drivers, in my opinion. However, distortion products that are 30dB below the fundamental represent 3% distortion. That's a pretty respectable figure for moderate to high output levels in the middle of the passband. Here's a dB - percentage conversion chart:-60dB = 0.1% -55dB = 0.2% -50dB = 0.3% -45dB = 0.5% -40dB = 1% -35dB = 2% -30dB = 3% -25dB = 5% -20dB = 10% -15dB = 15% -10dB = 30% -5dB = 55%
