I am wiring my home theater this week using in-wall speaker wire. The longest connection I am making from amp to speaker will be about 25 feet. What gauge of speaker wire should I use? thanks Paul

The power levels you'll be running will make a difference. Typically, at normal listening levels, 16 awg would be adequate. But, if you are using inefficient speakers driven by big amplifiers (high current levels), then the larger awg wire would be best. Subwoofers often consume a lot of current, hence the 12 awg wire.
