Wayne,

I am planning to make my Four-Pi modular by putting the 2226 woofer in a 3.0 cu ft Parts Express subwoofer cabinet. If I put 4 x 1.375-in ports in the corners of the front face, WinISD says each port should be 2.91-in long for 40 Hz tuning. Does this square with what you would calculate?

The vent area sounds about right, but I think each port should be longer, around 8" - 10". The Pro four π is about the same size, only slightly smaller, and has a single larger port of approximately the same area as the four you're considering. The four π cabinet works very well, and its port is 10" long.

Thanks, Wayne

It's always bothered me that WinISD gives shorter lengths for multiple ports with a cumulative area equal to a single port. Your answer makes a lot more sense.
