I'm building the bass bins for the Pro Pi Sevens, and was surprised that there is only 3/4" of free space between the inner port and the front panel. Am I reading the plans correctly?

The port looks kind of like a periscope. It's 3.5" x 6.25" and spans nearly the full width of the cabinet. Does that describe what you're thinking?

Wayne,

It's the depth of the port that has me concerned. If you add 3/4" for the baffle, 6 1/4" for the interior width of the port, 3/4" for the inner port wall, and 3/4" for the front panel, that adds up to 8 1/2". The depth of the cabinet dimensions on the plan is 9 1/4", so that leaves only 3/4" of free space between the inner port opening and the front panel. Before I proceed to permantly glue up the port I just want to make sure I was reading the plan correctly.

Tom

You've interpreted it exactly right. The distance between the interior wall of the cabinet space and the port is very small.

No problem at all. That one is kind of tight, and it had to be tuned empirically for just that reason.
