Looking at a tweeter with T-S Fs of 700 and recommended cross at 1800 Hz. Can it safely go as low as 1500 with 4th order L-W?

Is that a "L-R" 4th order? Not sure what "L-W" is.

Usually a tweeter is not brought that low if you don't have to.

Even my JBL is crossed over @ 2.5khz and that is considered very low for a tweeter.

What is your application?

Ron

Excursion will probably be OK, so you probably won't have to derate power handling. Hard to say about anything else.
