Anyone using ribbon tweeters in place of horns? [message #47861]

I was at RMAF last weekend, and it seemed that anything with ribbon tweeters sounded very good to me. Would it be possible to use a ribbon tweeter in place of the horn in a Theater Four?

I was thinking of something like the Fountek NeoCd2.0 Ribbon.

I love the sound of good ribbons. But they don't have the output of a horn, and I don't suggest using them as a substitute tweeter for any of the models of four π loudspeakers. The only speakers that might be suitable for a redesign using ribbons would be the Studio Series one π, two π and possibly the Professional Series seven π loudspeakers.

The new Fountek NeoPro5i ribbon tweeter have a
Sensitivity of: 102dB/2.83V@1M.
We place this little baby in our "test" linearray to see what this nice sounding unit will do.
