I've never built horns like these and the plans don't show any internal diagrams or bracing. I'm also still a little unsure about mounting the mid driver. I have built MBOW1, Audax HT, two cylinder subs and one sealed sub, Dayton 2-way, Buschhorns.

Can someone post some construction photos of the Pi 8?
Thanks!

Here are a couple links to helpful hints on the midhorn, which is the most difficult part of the cabinet. The rest is just a box, but do be sure to brace well.

Please be sure to ask questions here for anything that confuses you. One of us is sure to lend a hand.

Jeff, I noticed that you used one port at the bottom. My plans were a bit different w/three (I think).

Thanks Wayne,
I'll be using 3/4 MDF for the cabinet and even the internal bracing. Is the midhorn also 3/4 MDF or could that be 1/2"?

Yeah, I had the same plans with 3 square ports but preferred a round vent so i just calculated for that (same tuning freq.).

Good luck on yours. You won't be disappointed.

Jeff

You can make the midhorn out of 3/4" stock. When bracing, use a wedge shaped piece on the top and sides of the horn flare to give even greater rigidity.

Thanks again Wayne and Jeff. After seeing a few pics, I realized it is pretty simple to build. Now, I'm just tying to decided on whether I want to veneer them or wrap them with speaker fabric like Jeff's.
