I am keen on getting a 250Watt per channel power amp for myset up.

Current Setup:
CD player: Toshiba 3950 CD player, heavily modded.
PreAmp: Transcendent Sound, Grounded Grid
Speakers: 4 Pi with Delta Pro 15, 6ft3 cabinet
Power Amp: 100w Onkyo

Music:
75% Rock - played loud
25 Jazz, Blues Classical

Room: 12ft X 33ft X 7.5ft (height) with diffusors, base absorbers..

See some nice power amps, Bryston and Aragons on Audiogon.

Question: what do you think about the synergy with the proposed amps?

I dig the high power amps. Amps under ten watts will do everything you want to do for a room under 500 square feet or so, but when you increase power it takes you to a whole new level.

Have you considered a nice SS class A amp; Threshold or Nakamichi? They sound phenomenal with the Pi 4's. I use a Luxman M-120 Duo-Beta and it is a great combo. Better than the Bryston 4b we tried in the opinion of a couple of us. In fact I think the Pi 4's and Class A is about as good as sound gets.

Interesting suggestions - Luxman and Nakamichi... class A amps.

What about OTL's - the T16 or the newly announced Beast (more than I want to spend) from TranscendentSound?

Lots of power in that monster - Crown!

At a 1000 Watts, I wouldn't be surprised if the drivers might spontaneously combust.

A good test for this set up would be, Chemical Brothers, Bass Test - this song has a serious bass beat!

Never heard 'em, either one of the Rozenblit amps. I've spoken with Bruce a couple of times on the telephone, and he seems like a nice guy. I had hoped he would make last years GPAF, since it's only about 4 hours from him. But he didn't. Maybe next year.

OTL are they? I would stay with the high power; the 4's thrive on it.
Seriously I have tried lots of amps on these and the big SS powerhouse names like Threshold work best but I have a sleeper amp that we stumbled upon during a tryout. If you can't find a used class A SS amp.
The Audio Research D-120b. SS and pretty cheap around 600$ or less used. Talk about the perception of power: this is it. Very massive sounding.
Tube wise; the best was the Harmon Kardon Citation II. In fact we are listening to that combination now, my friend has it here for storage since he's moving. 60 watts per side but huge transformers.
Still; I personally like the 50 watt Threshold myself. The Class A runs hot but the sound is much more musical.
Wayne has most definately voiced these for big SS watts; not that they don't work with tubes but they like SS. This of course is all my opinion and to be taken with a grain of your personal salt. I only offer that I love these speakers and have tried many of my acquaintences amps on them. They do rise to the level of the equipment, don't be tempted to sell them short with cheap amps; you will regret it.
Sorry if this is irrelevent to your question.

2-ways with JBL 2225's - kind of 4Pi-ish.

Happy-Happy.

I have Pi-4's but with the eminence Kilomax woofers/2002 compression

I use a Crest CA-6 with great results - 400w/channel @8ohm - the kilomax need gobs of power(1000 would work too) - I did have Classe DR-9(150w per) but not enough juice.

if you get a CA-6 - get an older one - I forget what year this model went downhill after the company got bought out.
