Wayne,

You recently sent plans for the Three Pi Professional speakers (the ones using the JBL 2206) [thanks].

On the info section of the Web site the document "Independent Thiele Analysis of π Speakers with Response Charts" here http://www.pispeakers.com/PiGraph.htm shows an optimum PiAlign box of 0.73 cubic feet for the 2206 driver.

Unless my math is off, the Three Pi Professional plans show a much larger box. Is there a version of the plans with an internal subdivision that loads the 2206 to PiAlign specifications?

thanks,

Brian

The three π Pro is such a tiny little fellow. I made the cabinet slightly larger than PiAlign suggests and ported accordingly, which works very nicely. The 2206 works very well in cabinets from 0.5ft3 to 2.03 tuned to 60Hz.

You have to shoehorn the parts in the cabinets, and that's one reason I pulled them. They used the LT250 horn because larger horns wouldn't fit. I suppose I could have gone a little larger with the cabinets even than what I did, moving more towards a QB3, C4 or EBS alignment. But I didn't want to push further towards C4 because it becomes more and more underdamped down low. And going too far EBS drops the lower midrange into the bass shelf. So the box size can't really be increased much more.
