Are you sure your speakers aren't FH-1's? Do they look sort of like Klipsch LaScala's?

If so, they're a 60Hz midbass horn. Horns generate more output than direct radiators over a narrow frequency range. The FH-1 has sensitivity of about 104dB/W/M and can generate maximum output of 125dB/M from 60Hz to 400Hz or so.
