can i resize the opening of your mid horn from 12" x 24" to 18" x 18"?

If you want a axisymmetric horn, that would be fine. I like the 90o dispersion because it works so well in the home, particularly in a cornerhorn. But if you want axisymmetric, you can certainly go with a different dimension. If they will be used in free space, you may want to make them larger.
