A few years ago I built excatly that bass enclosure, except that at the time I didn't know it was commercially built - I was making a slimmer version of the Altec 816 by moving the ports to the ends. Loaded with Eminence Kapa 15's.

Still my son says, "Hey, Dad, remember those really cool speakers we had?" He was really impressed by the visual aspect.

I gave them to a some kids who use them for band practice - they tried them on a couple of gigs, but they were too heavy to lug around.
