Hi, A while ago I build the 3Pi's. Now I was wondering if it would be a good idea to add a midrange horn to this design (with an Eminence Alpha 6) or just leave the design as is ? Thanks in advance, Jim

Actually, I think the reason that Wayne would rather leave the 3Pi as-is is because that speaker is supposed to be a simple and low-cost solution that works well how it is. Wayne's put togethor the 8Pi loudspeaker if one wants to use a midrange horn. Or use one with the Pi cornerhorns instead.....

The choice to go 3-way or 2-way really depends on what you're trying to do. There are pro's and con's either way. I have seen excellent implementations of both. Wayne sells the 3Pi's as completed speakers hence his opinion to leave them as-is would be somewhat based around that I'd assume...
