Wayne,

I am interested in building speakers for my 17 watt PP amp. Could you please send me Theater 4 plans. Do you recommend any other of your kits for my amp? I listen to all types of music.

Many Thanks -

There are a few others that would work well, but the Theater four π speaker is definitely one of the best. I think you'll find it a very nice match for your 17 watt amp.

Wayne,

I am thinking the Theater 4's might be too big for my wife and my room. What are the next best options in a smaller box? Is there a big difference in sound between the Theater and the Thermonic series?

Thanks!!

You might consider the new Thermionic eight π speaker, which has a retro look that's really cool. You can also check out the Theater three π speaker, which would work very nicely with your amp. Studio one π and two π speakers are small, and the Tower two π is in-between, with a small footprint that might be a good fit for you.

I'll bet if she heard them all her cares would vanish!
Wish I could hear my 4Pi's for the first time again.

No doubt she could not move them out if I moved them in. You did a fantastic job on your 4's. Could you provide me with a few details on the grills. I need to keep the little ones away from the driver.

Give a look at the dimensions for the 4pi Stage cabinet. Very nice speaker and managable size.

Oh, that's true Bill, thanks. Good catch. The Professional Series four π speaker is nice too, and uses the same size cabinet.

The Stage 4 looks like a winner. No problems with my EL84 based tube amp? How does the degree of difficulty of the box construction compare with other models. I built my amp and preamp from scratch - this will be my first adventure into speaker building. Can you please send my the Stage 4 plans.

    Again - Many Thanks!

Check your mail - I've sent the plans. The Stage four π isn't what I'd suggest for some low-power SET amps, but it usually does pretty well on powerful P-P jobs. It sounds great on a Paramour 2A3 parafeed SET amp too.
