I'm trying to rearrange the power to decibel equation.

The equation is:

decibel = 10*log(P1/P0)

I need to rearrange it so P1 is on the left hand side of the equation. This is so I can determine the new power level (P1) given a decibel figure and old power level (P0) instead of given two power figures and finding decibel.

I know graphics calculators can solve for each number without re-arranging, but I need this for a microsoft excel spreadsheet which cannot solve like that. So I need to rearrange.

Can anyone help?

BTW: Formula is from JBL Sound System Design Manual.

P1 = 10^(Db/10)*P0 (nt) [message #43933 is a reply to message #43931] Fri, 13 February 2004 07:13 Go to previous messageGo to next message
