The internet is a wonderful thing. I found pictures of garman (A) 's 2pi tower under construction http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/lowgc/album?.dir=/Pi+Towers&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/lowgc
and learned that butt joints were just fine from Louis Lung and that medium density fibreboard is the medium of choice. http://www.lungster.com/l/speakers/mdffaq/mdf.html

The kit is on the way and I already have the big pieces cut out. This is a lot of fun. I found the mdf at Home Depot in 3/4", so I added 1/8" all around to keep the interior dimensions the same. I'll use the port size for the 3/4" material specified in the plans. Now all I have to do is decide on an amplifier and preamp....

Sounds great - You're well on your way. Please keep us posted on your progress!

The series of posts that Gar did was very good, wasn't it? It would be helpful to pull them all together with references in a single post; Maybe I'll do that sometime soon.
