I have found a pair of 5 sided well built walnut speaker cabinets. The owner never finished the project thus the 6th(front) side is missing. The problem is they are 16" W X 14" D X 26" H - this is so close to the premium stage 4 pi dimensions - how can I make use of these?

You're right. At ~3ft3, tune to 40Hz and they'll be perfect for JBL 2226 or Eminence Omega 15 drivers, as well as many others.
