I guess I'm just leaving this post because I'm very excited about the sound of my new reference monitors and none of my friends care (I doubt any of you will either). I picked up a pair of martin audio em 26's from salvation army for 20 bucks. They are just a simple 2-way, (8" woofer 1" tweeter in a trapazoidal cab) setup. Anyhoo, one of the woofers was blown. I had a couple of 8" B&W speakers laying around that I picked up at a pawn shop for $10. The B&W's fit in perfect. Lucky for me both speakers are made in England and are 200mm instead of 8". These things rock. Before the swap the lows were at about 70hz but now I would guess that they are at about 50 or so. Martin Audio should consider using B&W stock. So if any of you need a relpacement Martin Audio driver I'll sell it to you for $20. I think that I may be more excited about these than the mint AR-3A's that I picked up for seven dollars. sorry for the ramblings. jesse.
Sounds cool! [message #42372 is a reply to message #42371] Fri, 05 September 2003 21:48 Go to previous message
