Bit of a problem on the east coast tonight! Rochester is without power too, and the city is pretty full right now with visitors from all over to see the PGA championship. Lots of people all over with problems from this qlitch in power.

So you're out of power? Are you running a generator?

I'm not home. Out of state for the weekend so I'm watching it on the news. George may not have power either. I heard parts of Toronto were on that part of the grid too. It looks like things are getting back on line. Maybe by morning things will be back to normal.

Had people lined up buying 2 at a time at around 4 o'clock.Over $30,000 worth. By 9 everyone had their power back here in the waistland. We expect a "few" returns tomorrow. Anyone want a 5000 Watt open box special?

I was at work on Wall Street when the power went down. Walked home with a bunch of people from the office, found a bar and drank beer till about 10, put a few suburban types up in my sweltering apartment -- before air conditioning at least people had fans. We got up about 6 am and went out early -- it was cooler outside.

No music, but we weathered the inconvenience just fine. Everyone in NYC remained in remarkably good spirits.

Does anyone else remember the '65 blackout? I was just a kid at the time, but I have a dim recollection of flashlights and a transistor radio and waiting for my father to get home.

hey here in New Zealand over our winter,we rely on hydro dams,we had almost power cuts, the government never does anything about it !

we had to save 10% of our power,we JUST attained this,
we had hot water heating cut off ,but fortunately it rained heaps!! haha

so lucky

makes me think of 3rd world countries

makes u realise how powerless we are, without power, like 19th century technology.
