Couldn't resist the comparison. Did you count the segments on the folding rule? That's right, 48"! LOL!
The Theatre 4 components go back in these which are prototypes for building the JBL2226 and Altec 811/806A into the same, albeit, smaller design. A quite valuable thing to do with a somewhat complex design like this. I developed a flow chart for the build process as some steps can't be done except in a strict sequence.
Veneer is next and then the woofer and horn sub-cabinets get connected.
Don't know if they'll make it to Lima, they'll each weigh about 150 lbs!

Wow! Those look great! [message #40714 is a reply to message #40713] Mon, 24 March 2003 12:05 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Till,

I really like the style. Whats the veneer going to be.

I used MDF because it's so lightweight and sounds so good.
I'm cutting the panels at a friends shop last week. He has a quad of Jack Russell Terriers who 'can't get no'. So I'm wrestling a 96"X22" (Yeah, that's the 22" against the fence and about 70" overhanging the table) piece through the tablesaw while one of the little beasts starts humping my leg at 9000 RPM!
I don't know what veneer to use. I discovered tonight that I'm about one piece short of either Makore, Mahogany or the really lovely weeping Cedar I will use for the JBL/Altec's. E-bay, here I come!

My sister had a Jack Russell Terrier. Meanest Dog I ever knew. It was Vicious, "with big pointy teeth"

That dog took many a boot ride
