I am a SET newbie and I am focusing next on speakers. My amp actually delivers about 25 watts. This would be fine with my current speakers exept for a total lack of damping factor.

The speakers I currently have, KEF Q90s', have a great number of resistors put in between the speaker cables and the binding posts. I am up to twelve 8 ohm 20 watt resistors and have ordered more. These resistors restrict the speaker cone excursions, each one I add brings me closer to an appropriate sound. I say this because damping is important for this particular amp.

Unfortunatly, space is an issue. Were it not, I would have invested in horn speakers, or perhaps infinite baffle speakers long ago. I think I am limited to bass reflex cabinets.

Any suggestions for a good, well damped driver/cabinet combo from among the Pi options?

Thanks in advance.
Jason

With 25 watts, all models of π Speakers will work well. You can choose any of them, based on your placement options and budget.

I really like JBL 22xx series woofers. You'll find them in the Professional Series four π and seven π speakers.

I'll pass word to π Speakers owners in New York City and ask them to contact you.

You might also enjoy coming to the Midwest Audiofest in Ohio, April 11th and 12th.
