Mine give a very good image, and in my rooms they're not very fussy about the setup. Mine are on the floor against a wall. With good source and amps, the speakers can disappear, and with their dynamics "live" recordings sound especially good. As I've improved the rest of my system, the 2 Pi's have kept up nicely.
You'll find the image and soundstage the 2pi's to be very nice. They work well that I have found 8 to 12 feet apart. You can give a little more or less toe in to suit. They are not fussy
