There should be nothing wrong with attaching the wire to the back wall, as long as you make sure there's still enough 'free' wire hanging from behind the driver(s) so you can get them out of the box if you need to. You may wan't to gain access to the interior of the box in the future to experiment with damping, change drivers, whatever. Also remember to do the same at the terminal end(!)
