I completed my 2 Pi's last month with help and encouragement from folks on this forum. They look and sound great, definately worth the effort. Thanks everyone!

The slight bending of the speakers is a result of the cheap camera, not my workmanship!

Yeah, when you take pics of skyscrapers without parallax compensation, that's what happens. Pi skyscrapers!
And they are terrific! What's the rest of the system?

Thanks, I wasn't very confident when I planned how they'd look. I have no artistic talent but when I described how they'd look to my wife, son & nephew they all said 'cool'.

I was going to paint the screws holding the drivers black but I kinda like the industrial look leaving them silver.

The rest of the system is a

DVD - Hitachi DV-C605 which I *loathe*
DAC - MSB Link III no mods yet
Preamp/Amp - a 6CG7/6BQ5 setup that I swiped from an old stereo RCA console. I upgraded the caps, removed balance/tone controls, removed 1 gain stage in the preamp. It looks like death waiting happen but it sounds as sweet as sin.

Wayne,

Thanks for the positive comments. I was hesitant to post them after seeing those gorgeous veneered ones a few posts back.

I'll be adding the stickers as soon as a I get around to doing a little touch up work on the paint.

I have the logo decals in gold too, and I'd be happy to send you a couple if you're interested.

They look real nice. I'm glad someone else decided to paint their speakers. Everyone is so used to seeing veneered speakers that it's nice to see something different. Why not try painting the screws gold to match the stripe?

Good luck - Just remember that there is primer for MDF.
