Please tell me which model you'd like to build and I'd be happy to send you the plans. If you're unsure, there is more information about each of them at www.PiSpeakers.com/AvailableComponents.htm.

Are there differences in construction, like compression chamber sizing? Does the sound quality differ from model to model?

I plan to use them as bass units, so I was going to check if I could cut down the height by leaving out any areas not devoted to the woofer, if any.

I figured that since I have a pair of very sensitive 15" Magnavox woofers hanging around, I'd try those out first. Is that a big mistake?

Each model is different, of different size and tuned frequency. Sound is generally the same, but obviously there are some differences. You might even try and design one specific to your woofer. Grab a copy of PiAlign and plug in the numbers for your Magnavox woofers. It will recommend cabinet size for you and you'll be able to build cabinets specific to your woofer. Be sure to read the "readme.txt" file included in the program distribution file for information about running the program and about the parameters required by the program. If you decide to go with one of my standard models, send me your E-Mail address and I'll send you the plans.
